There are thousands of different desserts. Many people are happy to be tempted by a dessert, in very many cases, something sweet. And that can be easily explained.

Sweetness stays longer in the memory of our taste buds than other flavors. A dessert also reduces the ‘full’ feeling after a heavy meal. Sugar clears the mouth of other tastes and furthermore causes the stomach to work harder at digesting the food. That a dessert is a worthy way to finish a meal is also apparent from the origins of the word ‘dessert’. This comes from the French word ‘deservir’ meaning to clear the table.

In this selection of sweet snacks, there are many different textures such as crunchy, creamy, soft and firm, all tasting great alongside the rich flavors of chocolate, macaroons and nuts, and the surprising variety of fresh lemon, refined pistachio and fruity strawberry.

    Lemon Cake Pops:

    Mix for Lemon CakeLemon Curd

    Chocolate Fornelli:

    • 125 g Fornelli Classici • Sel de Mer (Mediterranean Herbs giftset) • Morello Cherry Chocolate Jam

    Filled Amaretti:

    Amaretti biscuits or Amaretti refillCrema di Pistacchio

  • Lemon Cake Pops

    Make the Lemon Cake according to the instructions on the packaging. Instead of the regularly provided mold use an original cake pop mold for a festive presentation. In that case, halve the cooking time to 20 to 25 minutes. Coat the cake pops with the glaze supplied and finish it off with a dollop of Lemon Curd (lemon cream).

    Chocolate Fornelli

    Melt 175 g white chocolate in a bain marie and spread over 125 g Fornelli. This is best done with a piping bag. Sprinkle with a pinch of Sel de Mer (Mediterranean Herbs Giftset). Allow the chocolate to harden. Serve the Fornelli with the Cherry Chocolate Jam and spread the biscuits with the jam according to taste.

    Filled amaretti

    Spread the Amaretti biscuits with a little Crema di Pistacchio and attach a second amaretti to them.

    Tip

    Serve all the sweet snacks together with the Panforte di Sienna Margherita, Nougat Strawberry and Belgian Chocolate Truffles. Delicious as a high tea or to round off a Christmas dinner.

    For a festive effect, decorate the snacks with icing sugar or edible golden glitter.
