Risotto Pomodoro is an authentic risotto mix with tomato and basil. Of course this typically Italian rice dish is cooked with Arborio rice. This type of rice, which is mostly grown in the Italian Po Valley, is not a round-grained rice, like many people think, but it’s a combination of long-grain rice and round-grain rice. The Arborio grains absorb a lot of liquid, but also remain firm during boiling. This makes these rice grains perfectly suitable for making risotto. We have added a spicy mixture of natural ingredients to these rice grains, containing tomato, basil, onion, parsley, oregano and various other herbs and spices. Making a delicious risotto has never been so easy!

Preparing an Italian risotto is fairly easy: melt a knob of butter and add the Risotto Pomodoro. Cook the rice while stirring for about two minutes on a low heat. Add a glass of white wine to the dish and keep stirring until the wine is absorbed. Cook 900 ml of stock or hot water and add this to the risotto bit by bit. Make sure you keep stirring while adding the stock. After 15 to 18 minutes, your risotto is probably done, but make sure you taste it before you serve it. Serve it hot, with a bit of Parmesan cheese and some extra virgin olive oil.
