When the olives are ripe in the Portuguese Douro-Superior valley they are hand-picked and cold pressed a few hours later to optimally retain flavour and create a high-quality, low-acidity olive oil.

The olive varieties in this oil are PDO (=Protected Designation of Origin) Trás-os-Montes certified i.e. this is a protected regional product.

s’Oliva Douro extra virgin olive oil has a fruity smell and has hints of apple, tomato and almond. It has a strong, fruity taste that is very good for salads with fish, mayonnaise, soups, vegetables, wok dishes, meat and fish dishes. The oil is also very suitable for use in our Bruschetta herb mixes and dippers. The olive oil combines well with sherry vinegar and Balsamico di Modena IGP. Dressing tip: 1/3 vinegar, 2/3 olive oil.
