Onions naturally contain a lot of sugar. By slowly heating sliced onion, those sugars caramelize and the onions become wonderfully sweet and tasty. Then mix the onions with balsamic vinegar, a little bit of brown sugar and some spices, and then you get the contents of this jar. Does not contain any unnatural additives or flavourings.
These caramelized onions are insanely delicious with many dishes. With potatoes, a piece of red meat, or as a topping on a hamburger or hot dog: these onions are always good. Of course also delicious in stews, in a wrap or on a croque. The possibilities are endless.
