“The best of the shop” is the literal translation of Ras el Hanout. This seasoning is one of our most delicious herb mélanges, developed according to authentic Moroccan recipe and ready to use in numerous dishes. You can not only use this herb mixture in couscous or rice, but as well in stews made of lamb, wild meat or chicken, whether or not you prepare the dish in a tajine. You will enjoy the rich aroma of the numerous spices in this mélange, that will fill your kitchen and titillate your taste buds.

One of our favorite recipes with Ras el Hanout is the vegetable-tomato sauce. Fry one chopped red onion, 2 chopped cloves of garlic, a half chopped small chili pepper and 1 tablespoon of Ras el Hanout Spices in a pan, and add 2 tablespoons of honey. Then add 6 tomatoes, 2 carrots, 1 sweet potato (all diced), 2 tablespoons tomato puree, 1 tablespoon fresh coriander, 2 cubes beef bouillon, 2 tablespoons lemon juice and 1 liter water. If you want some extra spice, add half a glass of red wine. Let this stew with the lid on for 30 to 45 minutes and then mash the whole mixture using a blender.
