A club sandwich consists of three sometimes four, diagonally cut, slices of lightly toasted bread with two layers of toppings: meat (or fish) and lettuce (or another vegetable). It is held together with toothpicks and often served with fries or chips. The toppings vary from ham, salmon, bacon, chicken breast and smoked chicken to grilled vegetables.
